The manufacturing process of coal-based activated carbon primarily involves the following steps:
1. Raw Material Pre-selection: Select high-quality anthracite coal, wash it in a spiral washing machine to remove impurities, dry it, and set it aside for later use.
2. Coal Preparation: The raw coal undergoes crushing, screening, and grinding to meet the particle size requirements for subsequent carbonization and activation.
3. Shaping: A unique process for coal-based activated carbon, involving kneading and extrusion into cylindrical or irregularly shaped pellets.
4. Carbonization: A low-temperature pyrolysis process to increase carbon content, conducted in a rotary kiln at temperatures controlled between 200-700°C.
5. Activation: Post-carbonation high-temperature treatment at 850-1050°C using steam or other gaseous activators to form a porous structure.
6. Post-treatment: Cooling and washing to remove impurities and unreacted substances, ensuring activated carbon quality and purity.
The entire production process of coal-based activated carbon involves both physical and chemical reactions, requiring precise control of conditions at each stage to ensure the performance and quality of the final product.
