Its surface bears organic functional groups such as hydroxyl, ester, carboxyl, and aldehyde groups. Often negatively charged and rich in micropores, it not only replenishes soil organic matter content but also effectively retains moisture and nutrients, enhancing soil fertility. Additionally, its high calorific value makes it suitable as a fuel.
